Arrangement for protecting an electrical circuit for at least two distinct current thresholds, including a breaker element 6 arranged in the electrical supply line 2 of the said circuit and rated so as to trigger when the current in the supply line exceeds a predetermined threshold, characterised in that it further comprises: detection means 7, 8 for detecting the appearance, in the circuit, of a current exceeding a second threshold of value smaller than the first threshold, and operating means 9, placed under the control of the detection means, for causing the flow, in the breaker element, of a current greater than the highest threshold in order to trigger the breaker element when a current exceeding the said second threshold has been detected. <IMAGE>
