A composite product based on inorganic fibres, useful especially for the manufacture of moulded articles. The composite product comprises inorganic fibres in individualised form or in flock form, which are obtained, for example, by shredding a felt of inorganic insulating fibres and, in addition, a mixture of two heat-curable resins forming a binder in a proportion of 1 % to 70 % of a novolak resin and of 0.5 to 70 % of a silicone resin. The percentages are expressed by weight relative to the total weight of the composite product. Application to the manufacture of moulded products exhibiting good mechanical strength, even at elevated temperatures. In particular, the product may be employed as a thermal screen. <IMAGE> |
