<p>Synthetic fibre tow heating appts. associated with a stretching device comprises a bath at opposite ends of which are disposed respective sets of stretching rollers and the fibre tow to be stretched is passed through the bath in which the heated liquid is supplied from below by means of a pump whose inlet is connected to ducts arranged in overflow tanks at the opposite ends of the batH. When the stretching device is stopped, the pump is taken out of commission, the liquid level in the bath falls and the fibre tow is prevented from overheating or etiolation.</p> |
