PURPOSE:To obtain a rapid hardening elastic composition having early development of strength and excellent elastic characteristics by blending an inorganic substance consisting essentially of a calcium aluminate, inorganic sulfate and a hydraulic substance with a polymer emulsion and rubber powder. CONSTITUTION:A rapid hardening elastic composition comprising an inorganic substance consisting essentially of a calcium aluminate, an inorganic sulfate and a hydraulic substance and/or a latently hydraulic substance and a polymer emulsion and rubber powder, suitable for floor covering materials for sports, joint compounds, etc. The calcium aluminate preferably contains about 30 to 60wt.% CaO and is amorphous. The inorganic sulfate is preferably II type anhydrous gypsum. Various kinds of Portland cements are used as the hydraulic substance and granulated slag of blast furnace as the latently hydraulic substance. The polymer emulsion is preferably ethylene-vinyl acetate copolymer, etc., and the rubber powder is preferably natural or synthetic rubber having <=about 3mm diameter. The composition can be blended with various kinds of admixtures and aggregates, fibers, etc. The composition can develop strength in a short time by blending the composition with water and can be made into a product having excellent elastic characteristics. |
