The framework, for supporting a glass roof or a glass facade, is constructed from metal T-sections (2). Each T-section consists of two flat bars (4, 6) with the larger bar (4) forming the web of the T-section and the smaller bar (6) forming the flange. The smaller bar (6) is fastened to the narrow long side of the larger bar (4) by screws (18) which pass through holes on the longitudinal centre line of the smaller bar (6) and engage tapped holes (20) in the narrow long side of the larger bar (4).
