Joining plastics coated textile sheets - to obtain weatherproof stitched seam. Method of sewing together the overlapping edges of two or more flexible, plastics-coated textile sheets consists of placing a thermoplastic strip in the overlap with its sides projecting from beneath each edge, sewing the seam, then bending back the edges of the thermoplastic strip to cover the stitching and welding them in position. H.F. welding may be used. The resultant seam is fully weather-proofed and suitable for use in tents etc. |
