PURPOSE:To obtain a recording material capable of performing high density and high speed recording even when a low intensity laser beam source is used, in a color image recording material wherein at least a transfer ink layer and a surface layer are provided on a support in this order, by forming the surface layer from a metal vapor deposition film. CONSTITUTION:As a support 8, a material not deteriorated by heating is pref. and polyethylene terephthalate is especially pref. As a transfer ink layer 9, a heat-meltable transfer ink layer colored by pigment and/or a dye or a heat- sublimable transfer ink layer constituted of a sublimable dye and a binder is pref. As the material of a metal vapor deposition film 10, bismuth, tin and indium can be used and this material is formed on the transfer ink layer 9 applied to the support as a metal membrane by a vapor deposition method. This color image recording material wherein the metal vapor deposition film 10 is formed on the ink layer 9 is used to be irradiated with laser beam and a fine image can be formed by beam input and a highly detailed pictorial color image is obtained. |
