The engine of a motor vehicle is mounted on cross-members (1) which have their ends supported on the longitudinal members (2) of the vehicle structure. A vibration decoupling mounting (4) prevents engine vibrations from being transmitted to the vehicle bodywork. The decoupling mounting (4) consists of a strip of metal with each end bent to a U-shape. The internal surfaces of each U-shape are lined with a vibration damping material (3) such as rubber. These U-shaped ends grip the side edges (5, 6) of the cross-member (1) which is clamped in place by the fixing bolts (7, 8) of the mounting (4). USE - Anti-vibration mounting for motor vehicle engine.
