Composite comprises at least one high m.pt. synthetic resin layer and at least one low m.pt. synthetic resin layer. The composite is produced by forming a tape-like laminate, fibres or composite fibres having the low-melting synthetic resin at least party bared. Fibres or composite fibres are obtd by splitting the laminate. In the water-absorbent composite powdery polymeric water absorbent is adhered on the bare outside surface of the low-melting resin layer. The high-melting synthetic resin is isotactic polypropylene, high-density polyethylene, polyester, nylon 6 and nylon 66. The low-melting synthetic resin is low-density polyethylene, straight-chain low-density polyethylene, high density polyethylene, ethylene, acetylvinyl copolymer, ionomer, etc. The difference between the m.pts of the low-melting synthetic resin and the high-melting synthetic resin is at least 10 deg. C. The tape-like laminate can be two layers, three layers or five layers formed by combining the high-melting and low-melting synthe-tic resins. The tape-like laminate, fibres or composite fibres are heated at near the melting point of the low-melting synthetic resin and then brough into contact with powdery poly-meric water absorbent which adheres to them. |
