<p>PURPOSE:To allow fire-retardant coating to be removed at a normal temperature superb in removability and safety without affecting adversely to a cable and to a cable sheath by permeating alkylglycol ether into a fire-retardant coating provided on a cable and then by removing the above coating. CONSTITUTION:As a result of an evaluation on the removal condition of fire- retardant coating with vinyl sheath and on the characteristic of the above vinyl sheath, the coating can easily be removed by impregnating it with diethylene glycol monoether for 32 to 40 hours, with diethylene glycol monobutyl ether for 35 to 44 hours and with triethylene glycol monoethyl ether for 40 to 48 hours. When the remover liquid of this kind is applied, the above vinyl sheath is found least affected and less substantial reduction on the tensile strength and elongation is observed.</p> |
