PURPOSE: To enable a motion detector to use a practical size memory, to predict and exclude a general false alarm source, and to enhance the reliability of motion detection by processing signals obtained from only the edge section of an object in the visual field of a camera. CONSTITUTION: Motion detector 10 determines the action of the edge section of an object in a TV field. Signals from a camera 12 are supplied to a differentiator 22 via a LPF 20, a waveform is generated that forms only the both edge sections of the central grey band area in the TV camera field, a detector detects its zero intersection, the signal issued at the time of detection is triggered by a monomulti 30, and a pulse having a standard width which precisely agrees with the edge section is generated, and is sent to a memory 14. The memory 14 is controlled by a controlled 15, and the output from the controller is supplied to a motion analyzer 40 via a vertical coincidence filter 38, and an alarm output is suppressed unless an object moves the minimum distance. |
