The invention relates to xanthene dyes of the formula I <IMAGE> in which R<1> stands for methyl, ethyl or <IMAGE> or for pyrrolidino, piperidino or morpholino, R<2> stands for hydrogen, methyl or ethyl, R<3> stands for hydrogen or methyl and R<4> stands for hydrogen or C1-C4-alkyl, where, if R<2> is methyl or ethyl, R<4> stands for C1-C4-alkyl. The dyes I are outstandingly suitable for the preparation of toners. |
