The invention relates to an apparatus providing thorough cleaning of the end of the nails of a user, particularly under the end of the user's nails, without damaging the skin through the use of detergents or by means of abrasion. In a preferred embodiment, the apparatus 1 includes a cylindrical or prismatic enclosure 5, a front wall of which is formed by a rubber membrane 6 provided with an opening for the insertion of a finger 2. Close to the opposite wall 14 is a nozzle 12 arranged so as to produce a pulsed jet of water 13 on the end of this finger. This nozzle is connected to an inlet nozzle (connector) 17 enabling the apparatus to be connected up to a pulsed-jet generator such as an apparatus for oral douches. Applications: cleaning of nails, particularly in the medical professions. <IMAGE>
