The invention relates to a data processing system intended to supply prospective technological information on a product or a process. It relates to a system having an automation function, allying the capacity for automatic processing of curves by a machine to the illustrative and discriminatory power of graphical representation exploited by a user as a Decision Aid tool. According to the invention, the system comprises: - means 11 for acquiring historical values of key technological characteristics, which are complementary and essentially independent, and are selected as being representatives of the said product or process; - means 14 for graphical representation of the said historical evolution of the selected characteristics, the said graphical representation means comprising means 13 for smoothing and extrapolating the evolution of each of the said characteristics. <IMAGE>
