Suction appts. is used for the removal of emissions during the cleaning of coke oven doors by servicing machines that can travel along the battery. The appts. includes a machine with a suction hood that can be moved side-ways and below which air nozzles are arraged at different heights on the door cleaner and lifter. Connected to the suction hood are suction pipes that are connected to a dust-filter unit on the machine. There is a removable dust-disposal container for the filter dust. USE/ADVANTAGE - Disadvantages of other emission-colllecting arrangements (which may, in large batteries, include suction piping with a total length of 500 m or more) are avoided by having the complete suctionw arrangement fitted to the servicing machine, and reliable collection of emissions is provided during opening, cleaning and closing of the doors.
