The central controller (RST) connected with transmitting and receiving stations (S1-Sn) in series in a ring bus (RB) incorporates a calculator (RE) which identifies pulse frames for extn. of a sync. signal, and a channel switch (KU). A pulse frame having a predetermined count value establishes a null point for forced sync. of the commencement of transmission of a data packet or cell of unit length. ADVANTAGE - Start of transmission of each data packet is synchronised to predetermined pulse frames, even when packet length is not matched to capacity of wideband channel. (7pp Dwg.No.1/3)
