PURPOSE:To precisely manufacture a magnetic record medium having desired coercive force by making it contain Sn, Si, and specified metallic elements. CONSTITUTION:This is magnetic powder for magnetic record medium which is expressed by (Fe)a (Sn)b (Si)c (M')d (M<2>)e (M<3>)f (O)g and whose average particle diameter is 0.08mum or less and tabular rate is 8 or less. (M' shows the metallic element selected from Ba, Sr, Ca and Pb, and M<2> the metallic element selected from Cr, Y, Ce, Nd, Sm, Al, La, and Cd, and M<3> the metallic element selected from Mg, Ti, Mn, Ni, Cu, Zn, Sb, In, Mo, and W, and a=8.0-12.0, b=0.01-6.0, c=0.05-6.0, d=0.3-6.0, e=0.01-6.0, f=0.0-6.0, and g is the atomic number of oxygen which satisfies the atomic value of other element. Hereby, a precise magnetic record medium having desired coercive force can be obtained. |
