PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition markedly improved in impact resistance by incorporating a polyacetal resin with a multi-phase interpolymer having multilayer structure made up of flexible phase and rigid phase with the outermost phase being polyacetal phase. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, (A) a monomer necessary for forming flexible phase (pref. n-butyl acrylate or styrene) is put to emulsion polymerization in the presence of emulsifier, polymerization initiator, polyfunctional crosslinking agent, polyfunctional grafting agent, etc., to obtain the flexible phase. Second, (B) a second monomer to form rigid phase (pref. methyl methacrylate) is added to the above flexible phase and put to emulsion polymerization to form the rigid phase to obtain a multi-phase polymer made up of two or more phases. Third, (C) in the presence of the resultant multi-phase polymer, formaldehyde is polymerized to obtain a multi-phase interpolymer with the outermost phase being polyacetal phase. Thence, 100 pts.wt. of a polyacetal resin is incorporated with 0.5-100 pts.wt. of the above multi-phase interpolymer to obtain the objective composition. |
