PURPOSE:To generate a proper moving vector even when a coated face/exposed face exists by generating a moving vector in response to the result of brightness matching of each picture element. CONSTITUTION:A video frame is fed to a direct block matching means 3 from a sequential scanning conversion means 2 to generate a correlation face. The correlation face is analyzed by a moving vector evaluation means 4 to generate a moving vector. Then a moving vector reduction means 5 and a moving vector evaluation means 6 apply brightness matching of each picture element and introduce a moving vector relating to each picture element based on the result of matching from plural moving vectors. When there is any brightness mismatching between picture elements in related preceding or succeeding input frames, the brightness matching of the picture element of the input frame is applied by using plural picture elements in the preceding and succeeding frames related to each other. The relating moving vector is introduced based on the result of brightness matching. |
