The prodn. of longitudinally curved tubular moulds in Cu (alloy) for continuous steel casting with good shape and dimensions consists of (a) cold-forming a shoulder (3) on one end of a straight tubular preform; (b) bending the preform to the correct radius along the axis; (c) inserting a curved mandrel (12) having externally the required shape and dimensions for the finished mould; (d) cold-drawing the preform on the mandrel and (e) stripping the mould from the mandrel. |
