New diphosphonates of general formula (I), where Het is a possibly substituted heterocyclic 5-membered ring with 2 to 4 heteroatoms, which can also be partially hydrated, R1-R7 independently of each other denote hydrogen or C1 to C5 alkyl, X is hydrogen, OH or the -NR8R9 group, in which R8 and R9 independently of each other denote hydrogen or C1 to C5 alkyl and m and n independently of each other are equal to 0, 1 or 2.
