<p>An improved machine (10) for producing a configurated and specified weight product (11) in die cavities (14) of a rotary die roll (13), each of the die cavities (14) being defined by a configurated sidewall and a porous bottom wall (17). During each revolution of the die roll (13), a batch (110) of the product (11) is forced into each cavity (14) as the cavities (14) pass a feed hopper (111). Upon continued rotation of the die roll (13), the bottom walls (17) of the cavities (14) are moved outwardly to force the configurated products (11) from the die cavities, while simultaneously air at a pressure greater than atmospheric pressure is directed through the porous bottom walls (17) so that the configurated product (11) is forced off of the bottom wall (17) and onto a conveyor (12) located beneath the die roll (13).</p> |
