A hair-grooming appliance has at least one hair curler (1) consisting of a winder surrounded by a sheath, the locks of hair being held in the space between the winder and the sheath. The winder and the sheath can be fitted tightly together and the sheath is provided with an inlet and an outlet connection for the hair-curling or hair-waving preparation which connects the space between the winding body and the sheath to the exterior. The inlet connection of the hair-curler (1) is connected to at least one reservoir (7) for the hair-curling or hair-waving preparation, the outlet connection of the hair-curler (1) is connected to at least one container for spent hair-curling or hair-waving preparation and the inlet connection is connected to the outlet connection, by a control and supply unit (2) in the form of an annular duct (10, 11, 12) or optionally by controllable valves (13, 14). A pump (9) generates a partial vacuum in the space between the winding and the sheath of the hair-curler (1); the hair-curling or hair-waving preparation is therefore sucked through the space in the hair-curler (1).
