An electrical snap action switch has a movable contact (22) mounted at the end of an arm (20) that can be displaced either side of a centre position to engage one of two contacts. The arm has two projections (23, 24) held in grooves in a support (17) by a spring. Switch position change-over is obtained by a pivot-mounted lever (13) that has a projecting arm (36). The arm engages with a guide (34) that operates against the spring until the line of action of the force passes over that of the contact arm for a snap action.
