PURPOSE: To control pests of Coleoptera insects by bringing efficient insectcontrolling amounts of specific Bacillus thuringiensis PS86B1 and its mutant into contact with insect pests. CONSTITUTION: Pests of Coleoptera insects are controlled by contacting with insect-controlling amounts of Bacillus thuringiensis PS86B1 (NRRL B-18299) and its mutant. The method is to contact by adding Bacillus thuringiensis PS86B1 into granules of bait and putting the granules on or into soil when seeds of plant known to be eaten by pests of insects are planted.
