<p>An installation comprising a source of gas (74), a gas-using appliance (76), a device (10) for detecting the gas flow and a timer (54). A valve (78) shuts off the gas flow in the event that the detector (10) detects a gas flow and the timer (54) reassumes its state of rest after a predetermined period of time has elapsed. The installation can include sensor means (88) for sensing a pilot flame. The gas is shut off if the sensor means (88) does not detect a pilot flame. The installation can further include sensor means (90) responsive to the luminosity of the main flame of the appliance. The gas is shut off if this sensor means (90) detects that the luminosity of the main flame exceeds a predetermined level. The installation can further include a heat sensor that causes the gas to be shut off if it detects that the main flame is not burning.</p> |
