<p>PURPOSE:To improve operability and image grade by providing correcting means for correcting an image blur in a horizontal direction and perpendicular direction, respectively and varying the oscillation preventive characteristics of the horizontal direction and the perpendicular direction. CONSTITUTION:Sensors are disposed to an inside wall 4 and supporting member 3 of a lens barrel and a torque generator is disposed in the axisymmetric part thereof. The x-axis and y-axis are respectively of the similar constitution; in addition, the x-axis and y-axis are disposed in orthogonal positions. Namely, the correcting means for correcting the image blur are provided in the horizontal direction and the perpendicular direction, respectively and the oscillation preventive characteristics in the horizontal direction and perpendicular direction of the correcting means are so set as to vary from each other. Namely, the horizontal direction (x-axis) where a panning operation is usually frequently executed is set at the function adequate for the panning control and the perpendicular direction (y-axis) where the blurring components are many is set at the function adequate for the oscillation prevention control.
