<p>PURPOSE:To enable carrying and sorting various sizes of sheets with simple constitution by providing a sheet transfer means having a pressure releasing mechanism at the upstream of a sheet discharging roller, and shifting the aforesaid roller in an axial direction when the aforesaid means is releasing pressure. CONSTITUTION:A distance between a sheet discharging roller 12 and a sheet transfer means 91 is so set that when the trailing end of a longest-sized sheet among sheets handled is separated from the sheet transfer means 91, the leading end of the sheet comes to be slightly exposed from the sheet discharging roller 12. Also, a sheet transfer means 10 with a pressure releasing mechanism is provided at an intermediate point between the sheet discharging roller 12 and the sheet transfer means 91. Furthermore, when a sheet as stacked at a position off a normal stacking position on a discharge tray 13 is discharged, the trailing end of the sheet leaves the sheet transfer means 91, and the sheet discharging roller 12 is moved in an axial direction after the pressure of the sheet transfer means 10 with a pressure releasing mechanism is released. Thereafter, the sheet discharging roller 12 is reset by the time when the leading end of the next sheet reaches the sheet discharging roller 12. According to the aforesaid construction, sheets can be properly sorted and in addition, various sizes of sheets can be transferred.</p> |
