<p>A construction of an inner and outer skin, pref. coated with a layer of PET, and an arrangement of blocks, which, when the structure is inflated, provides arches to support the inner skin from sagging. The blocks form lines across the whole width, each line consisting of an outer and inner series of voussoirs, between which the inner skin is held in position. After fixing one longitudinal side of the structure to a suitable foundation, air is pumped into the rubber bag. The assembly unfolds until the voussoirs in each series butt up against each other to form a complete arch across from one side to the other.</p> |
