A process for embossing large metal press platens or endless belts for plastics production deposits an etching resisting material directly onto the platens or belts by means of an engraved roller to give a prescribed pattern of point or linear nature. Equipment consists of a dish containing the etching resisting material in which a pick-up roller rotates and transfers the material directly to a screen printing roller. An adjacent engraving roller picks up the etching resisting material from the screen printing roller and transfers it directly to the platen or belt. USE/ADVANTAGE - Embossed plates or belts are obtd.' from transfer of a given structural pattern to plastic laminates or coated chipboard used in furniture. The defined pattern are transferred precisely onto the platen or belt without influence from the engraving roller pressure.
