PURPOSE:To obtain a panel having high luminous efficiency and excellent contrast by making a path to which discharge current of each cell concentrates allotted to straight line state electrode, and discharge portion of each cell shared with a transparent electrode. CONSTITUTION:Plural straight line state electrodes 2a mutually parallel are provided on the back side of a front plate 1 orthogonal to the plural straight line state electrodes 2a mutually parallel provided on the front side of a back plate, and a cell carrier 3 for retaining the front plate 1 and the back plate at a given interval is provided on the straight line state electrode of the front plate 1. Moreover a transparent electrode 2b is provided which overlaps at its part on the straight line state electrode 2a on the front plate and is positioned in cell space. That is, because of providing the straight line state electrode 2a and the transparent electrode 2b electrically connected to the straight line state electrode 2a on the front plate 1, a passage to which discharge current of each cell concentrates is allotted to the straight line state electrode 2a, and a discharge portion of each cell is shared with the transparent electrode 2b. This obtains good contrast, and also acquires a luminously efficient and moreover easily producible plasma display panel. |
