<p>Polyester comprises a reaction product of tris(2-hydroxyalkyl)isocyanurate, where each 2-hydroxyalkyl group contains 2-4C's., a polycarboxylic acid and a diphenol. The diphenol is pref. selected from bisphenol A, resorcinol or hydroquinone. The polycarboxylic acid is pref. terephthalic acid and the isocyanurate is pref. tris-(2-hydroxyethyl)isocyanurate. Polyesters are useful for prodn. of industrial coatings of varnishes, laminates, films, electrical insulators, for treatment of cloth, paper etc. They can generally be employed in place of alkyl resins.</p> |
