PURPOSE:To enable the title image recorder to cope excellently with either case of a local mode and a remote mode by a method wherein a state of an apparatus is controlled by detecting a residual amount of a recording material and besides, the control state is switched between the local mode and the remote mode. CONSTITUTION:A residual amount of ink is detected by a detecting means during recording operation. When non presence is reported to a controller 303 with a sensor 310, the controller 303 indicates an indication corresponding to ink of a kind for which non presence of ink is detected among indications 271-274 for non existence of ink of an operating part 101 of the controller 303 with an indication mode. After reporting precaution on non presence of ink, non permission of a following operation is indicated and abnormal image recording due to non presence of ink is prevented. Besides, when the operation is switched to a remote mode by operation of a switch 250 of the operation part 101, a lamp of a indication 252 is lighted, a transmission part 305 is switched and the indication as a recording signal is sent to a driver head in an apparatus B of the same structure via the transmission part in the remote side apparatus B through a cable 104. |
