PURPOSE:To manufacture the low temp. sintered cubic boron nitride sintered body at a low manufacturing cost by mixing cubic boron nitride powder with low m.p. Ni series alloy powder in a specified ratio, subjecting the mixture to press forming and hot burning under specified conditions and forming a sintered structural body. CONSTITUTION:By weight, 70 to 95% cubic boron nitride powder is mixed with 30 to 5% Ni series alloy powder or Co series alloy powder having low m.p. of <=1350 deg.C melting temp. in the above blending ratio. Next, the mixed powder is subjected to press forming under >=500kg/cm<2> pressure and is subjected to hot burning in the selected temp. area of 900 to 1350 deg.C to subject the Ni series alloy or Co series alloy to liquid phase sintering into respective cubic boron nitride grains and to form a sintered structural body. In this way, the low temp. sintered cubic boron nitride sintered body available in the field same as that for a high temp. sintered cubic boron nitride sintered body can be obtd. |
