SYNTHETIC PEPTIDES CAPABLE OF STIMULATING A T-CELLULAR IMMUNITY The S1 subunit regions of pertussis toxin from Bordetella pertussis comprising the antigenic sites recognized by the human T helper clones anti-S1 are described and said sites are characterized. Synthetic peptides having an amino acid sequence corresponding to the sequence of said regions or of the T-epitopes comprised therein are novel. Said peptides, alone or in combination with the immunodominant Bepitope of the pertussis toxin S1 subunit from Bordetella pertussis, are particularly useful as immunogens for manufacturing acellular anti-pertussis vaccines.
