发明名称 PRODUCTION OF 2,6-SUBSTITUTED PHENOL DERIVATIVE
摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain a 2,6-substituted phenol derivative in high yield and selectivity by reacting a cyclohexanone compound with an aldehyde in the presence of a relatively inexpensive catalyst system comprising a compound composed of a group IVa metal or its combination with a protonic acid. CONSTITUTION:A 2,6-substituted phenol derivative of formula VI can be produced by reacting a cyclohexanone compound of formula I (R<2> and R<3> are H or hydrocarbon residue) with an aldehyde of formula II and/or formula III (R<1a> and R<1b> are H or hydrocarbon residue) in the presence of a catalyst comprising a metal compound catalyst of formula IV (M is group IVa metal element; A is halogen or acetyl) or formula V (X is halogen) or its combination with a protonic acid. Various kinds of phenol derivatives 2,6-substituted with various hydrocarbon residues having large carbon numbers can be produced by selecting the kind of the aldehyde.
