PURPOSE:To provide a polymer-bonded magnet which has excellent heat resistance and resistance to chemicals and further has excellent magnetic properties by employing as a resin binder a specific polyaryl cyano ether polymer and selecting the amount of said polymer and a molding method of said polymer. CONSTITUTION:There is dissolved polyaryl cyano ether polymer in a solvent p-chlorophenol, which polymer has a repetitive unit expressed by a formula I and has 0.2dl or more intrinsic viscosity at 60 deg.C in said solvent. Further, a magnet powder material is yielded which is coated with 0.1-5% by weight polyaryl cyano ether polymer or on which the same polymer is deposited by adding a poor solvent for said polymer to a resulting mixed solution in which magnet powder is dispersed or vaporizing or evaporating the solvent in the mixed solution or cooling the mixed solution. The resulting material is compression-molded. Herein, Ar in the formula I denotes a formula II and the like. Hereby, a polymer bonded magnet excellent in heat resistance and resistance to chemicals can be yielded with ease. |
