PURPOSE:To obtain a developer maintaining high transfer efficiency and image density over a long period of time and stably giving high quality images and to perform an image forming method using the developer by incorporating prescribed percentages of a toner, hydrophobic silica particles and fine powder of a prescribed acrylic polymer. CONSTITUTION:A developer contg. prescriber percentages of a toner, hydrophobic silica particles and powder of an acrylic polymer having a lower rate of triboelectric charge than the silica particles and a lower electric resistance than the toner is obtd. and used when images are formed by reapeating an image forming process composed of a prescribed electrostatic charging stage, a prescribed electrostatic latent image forming stage, a prescribed developing stage and a prescribed transferring stage without cleaning the surface of an image support after the transferring stage. The developer can maintain about 100% transfer efficiency and image density over a long period of time and stably gives high quality images free from after image. Images can be formed with the developer without requiring cleaning. |
