PURPOSE:To enable a low stretched belt with a uniform length to be produced, by cooling a vulcanized belt in a stretched state for a prescribed period from the outer circumferential surface of the belt. CONSTITUTION:In a molding stage, a flat, wide and unvulcanized blet sleeve is wound on the outer circumference of a cylindrical flexible jacket 2 mounted on an inner cylindrical drum 1. Then the sleeve in its wound state on the drum 1 is introduced into a vulcanizing apparatus where the unvulcanized belt sleeve outer surface is heated and pessed by an outer mold having a plurality of V- shaped grooves circumferentially in the inner surface, and while the unvulcanized belt surface is formed with triangle ribs circumferentially, it is vulcanized. After the vulcanization, and while the vulcanized belt sleeve 5 is still hot, the sleeve 5 is uniformly stretched circumferentially by a dimension W, is caused to become in contact with the outer cylindrical drum 6, and is cooled by a cooling mechanism provided to the drum 6 with it being stretched. |
