Sling for holding shoulder joint in fixed position - has shoulder strap with loops held in place by belt

A sling for holding the shoulder joint in a fixed position consists of a belt (1) fastened around the patient's waist. This belt (1) has an attached loop (2) which passes around the patient's arm just above the elbow. A shoulder strap (3) passes around the patient's neck and the ends of this strap pass under the belt (1) and are attached to loops (4,5). One (4) of these loops passes around the patient's wrist whilst the other op (5) passes around the forearm just below the elbow. USE - Treatment of shoulder injuries.
