The water tap fitting comprises a body (1) in which a water passage leads to an outlet, together with a control valve (2). The outlet consists of a horizontal slit (3), below which a plate (4) is mounted on the body, over which the water flows. The passage can be arranged to widen in a sector towards the slit, which can be curved. The plate can be a separate interchangeable component on the body.
