PURPOSE: To enable the dental treatment work at a convenient position by providing an endoscope with a handle having an end portion to be introduced into an oral cavity and a fibrous optical system for illuminating a region to be inspected, and for collecting an image to be transmitted into the means of catching the image is provided in the terminal end of the end portion. CONSTITUTION: A device used by an endoscope comprises an illumination source 1 connected with the endoscope by the first bundle 3 of an optical fiber. A handle 25 consisting of a body 29 having a TV-camera 21 and its monitor 23 provides the end portion 27 consisting of the endoscope of fitting the inspection of a patient's mouth cavity (C), and the end portion 27 can change its angle position in response to the necessity of a dentist. The terminal end of the end portion 27 consists of a rigid tubular element 31, and the two coaxial bundles of a optical fiber show their faces toward a working region. The tubular element 31 has a very small diameter for inspecting a root canal which is difficult to approach by another way, or for making convenient the inspection of the other region of the mouth cavity.
