PURPOSE:To enable the control of the cross-level of a sleeper and to prevent the outflow of road bed forming ballast by placing spacers on the undersurface of a sleeper body of the sleeper to be laid on the outside of the end of a bridge, and placing a cover material on the foliate side of the sleeper body. CONSTITUTION:Spacers having a specific thickness are placed on undersurface of a sleeper body 1 of the sleeper to be laid on the top surface 52 of a skeleton of an abutment 5 at an interval in correspondence with fixed positions of track rails 4 and 4. After that, a narrow cover material 3 having about the same length as that of the sleeper body 1 is mounted on the foliate side of the sleeper body 1 along lengthwise, and the lower edge of the cover material is projected downward of the undersurface of the sleeper body 1 by about the same size as the thicknesses of the spacers 2 and 2. When the top surface 52 of a skeleton of an abutment 5 is an inclination or an uneven surface, the spacers 2 and 2 are cut off only to match the surface to control the cross-level. The outflow of road bed forming ballast 8 is prevented by the cover material 3. |
