Automatically cutting off power to dangerous mixer - using mobile cover unit to allow maintenance access

Access to the inside of a hopper for large scale grinding, cutting or mincing tools is barred by barriers (3) in the upper part of the container. When such access is required, esp. for cleaning the machine, a section (7) must be moved along slide rails (5) or undergo tilting or other movement during which a switch (6) controlling the machine operation is automatically operated. The switch cannot be returned to operating position while any part of an operative, e.g. body or hand, is inside the machine hopper, but only when there is not further risk of contact. ADVANTAGE - Avoids risk of machine being accidently started while a person is in danger area.
