PURPOSE:To allow an easy and high-speed writng and reading out by storing at least two data bits in frequency order by multiphoton optochemical reaction of two-photon or higher process of quest molecules and forming at least one of the intermediates formed during the course of the optochemical reaction as a stable product. CONSTITUTION:At least the two data bits in frequency order can be stored by the multiphoton optochemical reaction of two-photon or higher process of quest molecules and at least one of the intermediates formed during the course of the optochemical reaction is formed as the stable product. The quantum yield of the optochemical reaction contributing to the hole formation, therefore, increases. The high-speed writing and reading out with the small spot diameter using a lower laser power are attained in this way as the high-sensitivity optical memory.
