Filling positive accumulator plates with active powder - in sealed cabin in which turntable carries plates through circular row of process stations

The plant consists of a cabin sealed by a door and contg. a turntable which is rotated in steps of 90 deg. through four work stations, and can also be driven vertically. The stations consist of a post for charging and discharging the accumulator plates; a post for automatic filling of the plates with an active powder, and the vibration of the latter causing its compaction; a post for automatic cleaning of the filled plates; and a post for automatic closing of the plates. The cabin can pref. be rotated on a vertical axis so its door can be placed adjacent to any one of the four work stations, i.e. thus providing ready access to the latter. The plates can be filled at a rate of e.g. 300 per hour with a lead oxide without a human being exposed to the oxide.
