<p>PURPOSE:To shorten a time for measurement of a distance and an angle to a target by forming a number of beams by processing digitally echo received by a plurality of element antennas, and by measuring the distance to the target in juxtaposition with respect to each beam. CONSTITUTION:In a transmission means 14, a transmission signal generated by a transmission antenna 15 and a transmitter 1 is transmitted through the transmission antenna 15 with a wide-angle beam so as to cover a desired covering area. A converted video signal is converted into a digital video signal by an A/D converter 11, inputted to a multibeam arithmetic unit 12 and subjected to a digital operation, and thereby a multibeam in the number corresponding to the number of element antennas can be formed. Next, a distance to a target is determined from the video signal of each beam by a distance-measuring means 13. In this way, angles thetar and distances Rr to a plurality of targets being present in the desired covering area can be obtained simultaneously and thus a time for measurement can be shortened.</p> |
