PURPOSE:To manufacture a surface active agent to be used easily by treating a specific phosphatidic acid derivative with lipase or phospholipase A2, carrying out hydrolyzing and including one kind or more of specific lisophospholipid thus prepared. CONSTITUTION:A phosphatidic acid derivative represented by the formula I (R<3> and R<4> represent acyl residue of aliphatic acid, X represents an organic radical after removing an optional hydroxyl H from polyvalent alcohol) is treated with lipase or phospholipase A2 and partical hydrolysis is carried out to prepare lisophospholipid represented by formula II (R<1> and R<2> represent H and acyl residue of aliphatic acid, and one of R<1> and R<2> represents H and the other represents acyl residue.). Said component is provided with approximately 20 or more of HLB and ready to be dissolved in water and shows superior surface active action. Therefore, a superior surface active agent to be utilized widely can be manufactured by including one kind or more of lisophospholipid in the formula II.
