PURPOSE:To reduce the power consumption by a high-stage-side compressor and secure a high coefficient of performance and good reliability by driving a refrigerant ejector by means of the gas discharged from the high-stage-side compressor so as to suck low-pressure gasified refrigerant from an evaporator, compress it, and pass it to the suction side of the high-stage- side compressor and by providing a rectification separator between a condenser and an intermediate cooler. CONSTITUTION:An intermediate cooler 10 effects intermediate cooling the gasified refrigerant discharged from a refrigerant ejector 13 so that it is prevented for the temperature of the gasified refrigerant discharged from a high-stage-side compressor 8 to rise abnormally under an operation condition of increasing compression ratio due to heating when the outdoor temperatures are low or due to hot water supply; by the action of a rectification separator 15 provided between a condenser 9 and the intermediate cooler 10, a nonazeotropic refrigerant mixture contained is separated into a high-boiling-point refrigerant and a low-boiling-point refrigerant and the high-boiling-point refrigerant, whose pressure can be lowered, is made to preponderate on the side of the condenser 9 where the temperature is high, whereas the low-boiling-point refrigerant, whose pressure does not decline much, is made to preponderate on the side of an evaporator 12 where the temperature is low. The rectification separator 15 is provided at its bottom with a heater 14, which supplies heat required for the rectification separation and simultaneously cool the gasified refrigerant discharged from the refrigerant ejector 13.
