PURPOSE:To satisfactorily execute treatment without being affected by the dyestuff of water or blood in an eyeball by irradiating the patient part of the eye with the laser beam of a prescribed wavelength from a laser light source through a probe and coagulating the part by heating operation. CONSTITUTION:Laser beam 2 is passed from a laser probe 1 through a lens body 4 and a glass body 5 of an eyeball 3 and condensed to the operating part of an eyeground part 6 and this operating part is coagulated by the heating operation caused by the irradiation with the laser beam. In such a case, when the wavelength of the laser beam for a laser diode 7 is more than 650nm and less than 805nm, for the laser beam of the laser diode 7, absorption by the water or the absorption by the hemoglobin oxide of the blood is made small and the absorption of the laser beam by the glass body 5 of the eyeball 3 is reduced. Accordingly, for example, the operating part of the eyeground part 6 can be satisfactorily coagulated by the laser beam of suitable intensity with the heating operation without damaging the eyeball 3. |
